Illinois is poised to pass a lousy fracking bill, HB2615, that will not protect our water, air, food, residents or our beautiful Shawnee National Forest! It is being hyped as the best fracking bill in the nation, we disagree, Vermont has banned fracking, and New York is poised to roll over their 5 year moratorium for 2 more years. Those states have the best protections in the nation. Please go to this link to read our detailed rip on the IL regulatory bill:

Yesterday there were over 100 Illinois citizen fractivists in Springfield, representing thousands, from community groups across the state, teaching the IL lawmakers about the many dangers of fracking,

Honestly folks, these politicians in Springfield barely know what room they are in, they know nothing about most of the issues that they are voting on. This is insanely dangerous to let them vote on fracking for purely political reasons–they need to be forced to look at the science–that is what our moratorium bills HB3086 and SB1418 do, they slow fracking down and create an investigative task force to look at the science. Rather than a political compromise with the industry, greased by money, we want them to look at the science.

For instance fracking (test wells?) caused a 2.7 earthquake near Benton IL on Monday, March 11th:
High Volume, High Pressure, Horizontal Fracking is not a benign technology.

We had some success in Springfield, we now have a few more cosponsors on our moratorium bills at
SB1418: Mattie Hunter – Iris Y. Martinez – Dan Kotowski
HB3086: Deborah Mell – Kelly M. Cassidy – Robyn Gabel

We need your help today Thur, March 14th
Please call Springfield at 1-217-782-2000, ask to speak to your Rep, Sen and Speaker Madigan, and call the Gov too at 312-814-2121 or 217-782-0244

There are hearings on our bills tomorrow, Thurs March 14th, in both the State House and Senate, please assist in their survival through the hearing process.
Please tell them “No Fracking Way, Vote NO on HB2615 and Yes on a Moratorium with an Investigative Task Force, HB3086 and SB1418. Tell them that drought, toxic waste water, earthquakes, air pollution and global warming are just some of the reasons that you want your Rep, Sen and the Gov to Stop the Frack Attack On IL and support a Moratorium.
