Trayvon Martin’s death has become the political football for the Left and the Right. The family and citizens should be protesting and outraged over the injustice surrounding his death. Politicians and Pundits would pervert that necessary outrage for no other reason than Florida will be critical to the 2012 Presidential election; They care less about the boy than for political posturing. Sad.

Bill, I don’t think you can say what’s in the hearts of others. I know that there are plenty of politicians who care deeply for justice and to toss them in with cynical partisan hacks is unfair and not that different than those who would use Trayvon Martin’s murder as a political football, and I know you are better than that.

Thanks, Timmy for your thoughts, but given the racially divisive environment created by political vaudeville, the religion of guns, the vapid nature of discourse in the country and the lack of attention to racial issues in this nation, how can one not come to that conclusion? The media especially is a corporate propaganda wing, in which their promotion and selection of candidates is meant to throw a puppet sovereign into a plastic throne. I’m not looking into their hearts as much as I am listening to their words as they attack women, degrade working people, taunt racial and ethnic divides, assail or dodge and weave over the Occupy Movement and extoll the greedy and immoral as “job creators.” All of the above have been used as a means to an end to demonstrably and inarguably enrich themselves and rallying their partisan bases. I fully understand what you are saying, and you know I love you dearly, but in this case, I have to say I am not better than that…I stand by it.
